Daytona announces start times for 2013 NASCAR kickoff

NASCAR fans will get their first look at the new ‘Gen 6’ Sprint Cup cars in actual competition for the first time on Saturday February 16, 2013 with the running of the non-points Bud Shootout. Daytona International Speedway announced the start times for the Speedweeks events Thursday, beginning with the Shootout which will take the green flag at 8:00 p.m.

The big show, the season opening Daytona 500 will start just after 1:00 p.m. eight days later. The start time marks the fourth year the Daytona 500 will start at that time Sunday.
