NASCAR driver arrested and charged in domestic dispute

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Travis Kvapil was arrested and charged with assault according to police in Mooresville NC Tuesday. In a report, officers said they received a 911 call from the home of the 37 year old Tuesday evening.

When officers arrived they determined that Kvapil and his wife had been involved in a domestic dispute. Kvapil was arrested and charged with assault on a female and false imprisonment. He was taken to the Iredell County Jail and made an appearance in District Court Wednesday. He bonded out of jail Wednesday afternoon.

Kvapil has been racing in NASCAR’s top touring series since 2006. Overall he has made 240 starts since 2004. He also has five starts in the NASCAR Nationwide series and 143 in the Truck series where he has nine wins and was the series champion in 2003 MORE>>>
