Brian Vickers out for the NASCAR season with health issues

Brian Vickers will miss the rest of the NASCAR season due to health issues. Michael Waltrip Racing said Monday in an emailed press release that a doctor discovered a small blood clot in the calf region of Vicker’s right leg.

Vickers was hospitalized in 2010 after suffering chest pains. He was hospitalized and diagnosed with blood clots in his legs and near his lung. He was forced to miss the rest of the 2010 season.

Vickers said Dr. William Downey has placed him on blood thinning medication after the examination Monday morning. MORE>>>
