Austin Dillon to sub for Tony Stewart at Michigan

Former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion and current fulltime NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Austin Dillon will sub for injured Sprint Cup driver Tony Stewart at this weekend’s Sprint Cup race at Michigan International Raceway.

The Stewart-Haas Racing team made the announcement via email Monday afternoon.  Stewart broke his right tibia and fibula in a sprint car crash Aug. 5 at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He underwent two surgeries and was released from a hospital Late Sunday.

Max Papis drove the No. 14 Chevrolet to a 15th-place finish Sunday at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International to maintain the team’s 11th-place standing in the Sprint Cup Series owner championship. MORE>>>
