1969: LeeRoy Yarbrough inherits victory when Bobby Allison crashes four laps from the end in a 400-mile main event at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway. Yarbrough led just eight of the 291 laps in a Junior Johnson-owned Mercury. Pole-winner Cale Yarborough — no relation — was second in a Wood Brothers Mercury, one lap down.
