The Sprint Media Tour is almost over. It will be a bittersweet goodbye come Thursday. I have already learned so much. However, there is still too much I do not know about the sport.

Wednesday started out with an amazing display of planes, stock car, Indy cars, and pastries at the Concord Airport. We were there for breakfast to listen to an announcement made by Chip Ganassi Racing.

The big announcement was a multi-year partnership with Cessna and Textron companies, Bell Helicopter and E-Z-Go.  All together, the three companies will sponsor Chip Ganassi cars across all the three series they compete in.

They’re going to sponsor Jamie McMurray in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Dario Franchitti in the IZOD Indy Car Series, and a race with Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas in the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series.

Cessna is  the World’s leading general aviation company.

“Cessna helps making racing possible for my team by getting me to the races quickly and efficiently,” said Chip Ganassi, owner of Chip Ganassi Racing. “ With almost 70 races a year separated by hundreds of miles with little time in between, I rely on business aviation to help me keep driving my business and to keep winning. “

Next, we visited Hendrick Motorsports. There we hear from Hendrick and the drivers about their plans for the upcoming year. They spoke about their excitement with the new cars and goals of winning.

Now, I am back in my room, waiting to get the rest of the day underway. What I have to look forward to is dinner at Penske Racing, and an event with Fox Sports Media Group.

So how did the rest of the day go? Read all about that here.
