In 2025, Hendrick Motorsports is once again unleashing its No. 17 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet on the NASCAR Xfinity Series, this time with a 16-race schedule featuring its Cup Series heavyweights and a fresh-faced dirt track sensation. The operation, led by crew chief Adam Wall, will put William Byron, Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, and Alex Bowman behind the wheel—while 19-year-old rising star Corey Day takes on the bulk of the driving duties in his Xfinity debut season.

Byron gets the first crack at the season on March 1 at Circuit of The Americas, the first of his two races in the No. 17. Larson will also make a pair of appearances, while Elliott and Bowman each get a one-off shot. But the real headline? Corey Day. The California-born dirt track ace, who inked a deal with Hendrick Motorsports in December, will take on 10 races, making his Xfinity Series debut March 29 at Martinsville Speedway. In total, Day is set to tackle nearly 30 pavement races in 2025 across multiple series as Hendrick polishes another young talent for the big leagues.

“We’re pleased to continue our sponsorship of the No. 17 team, which has driven significant traffic to HendrickCars.com and helped support the broader goals of Hendrick Automotive Group,” said Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports and chairman and CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group. “With Adam, we have one of the sharpest young crew chiefs in the garage leading our team. The Xfinity Series competition is tough, and we’re looking forward to the challenge.”

Wall, 35, is no stranger to Hendrick’s inner workings. After joining the organization as an engineer in 2011, he took a three-year stint at JR Motorsports before returning to HMS, eventually becoming the lead race engineer for Kyle Larson’s 2021 Cup Series championship campaign. Most recently, Wall spent 2024 calling the shots at JRM for Sammy Smith and Brandon Jones, but now he’s got the keys to Hendrick’s Xfinity machine.

“Hendrick Motorsports has opened a lot of doors for me,” Wall said. “Because of the valuable experience I’ve gained, I feel very prepared for this opportunity. I’m excited about the chance to go racing with our Cup drivers and work with a young talent like Corey. Anyone who follows dirt knows he’s the real deal. We have high expectations as a team and look forward to a great year.”

And those expectations aren’t just wishful thinking. Since returning to the Xfinity Series in 2022, the No. 17 HendrickCars.com entry has racked up two wins (both in 2024), four poles, 11 top-five finishes, and 13 top-10s in just 20 starts. The team’s 2025 schedule is set, and it’s a mix of road courses, short tracks, and intermediate ovals designed to put its lineup of stars—and its newest prospect—to the test.
