Erik Jones was named the 2024 Comcast Community Champion of the Year on Thursday. He is the 10th recipient of the annual award.
Comcast will donate $60,000 to Jones’ Erik Jones Foundation, which supports early cancer detection, literacy, and animal welfare.
Jones established the foundation in 2021 after losing his father to cancer and supporting his mother through her breast cancer battle.
“Erik has consistently demonstrated his passion for meeting people where they are—offering support, resources, and hope,” said Matt Lederer, vice president of brand partnerships and amplification at Comcast.
Other finalists for the award were Scott Crowell and Susan McKee, who will each receive $30,000 donations to their respective charities.
Since 2015, the Comcast Community Champion program has donated over $1 million to 30 nonprofits.
