23XI Racing announced Wednesday that Riley Herbst will join the team as its third driver, competing full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series beginning in 2025.
Herbst, 25, will pilot the No. 35 Toyota, joining Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace on the team.
“It’s an honor to join 23XI and Toyota for the opportunity to race in the Cup Series each week,” Herbst said. “What 23XI has accomplished in a short time is impressive and I look forward to building on their success as the organization grows.”
Herbst, a product of Joe Gibbs Racing and Stewart-Haas Racing’s Xfinity Series programs, brings a wealth of experience to 23XI. He has three career Xfinity Series wins, including a championship-clinching victory at Phoenix Raceway in 2024.
Davin Restivo will continue as crew chief for Herbst, a pairing that began midway through the 2024 Xfinity Series season.
Monster Energy will serve as the primary sponsor for the No. 35 car.
“As 23XI enters our fifth season next year, we felt the time was right to continue the growth of our organization by adding a third team,” said Steve Lauletta, 23XI Racing team president. “We know they will be a great resource for Riley as he begins his journey in the Cup Series.”
With this expansion, 23XI Racing aims to solidify its position as a top-tier team in the NASCAR Cup Series and continue its upward trajectory.
