1966: Jim Paschal completes a dominant performance at North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway, winning the Gwyn Staley 400 by six laps over runner-up G.C. Spencer. Paschal, the pole-sitter, led 308 of the 400 laps to land the 19th of his 25 victories over the course of his 23-year career. David Pearson finished third, a staggering 18 laps off Paschal’s pace.
