The big one came on the final lap taking out much of the field behind Matt Kenseth, who took the checkered flag under the yellow flag to win the Good Sam 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.
A late race crash involving Matt Kenseth and Joey Logano on lap 132 during Sunday’s Crown Royal presents the Curtiss Shaver 400 at the Brickyard sent Kenseth to the garage, and to second in the Sprint Cup points standings.
Jimmie Johnson drove to victory lane in Sunday’s Fedex 400 at Dover International Speedway tying NASCAR greats Richard Petty and Bobby Allison for most wins at the Monster Mile. Johnson had a dominating performance leading 289 of the 400 laps. Johnson called the performance a team effort.
