Martin Truex Jr., driver for Michael Waltrip Racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series will be racing with a cast on his right wrist this weekend the team said Tuesday.

In a press release, the team said an MRI confirmed a scaphoid fracture and sprain of Truex Jr’s wrist as a result of an accident last Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway.  Truex was swept up in a multi-car crash on lap 448. Truex’s Toyota was sent careening into the outside wall and came to rest on the inside of the track. An in-car camera showed what appeared to be Truex reacting in pain shortly after the car came to rest.

Saturday night Truex was checked out at the track. Monday he had a follow up with doctors who diagnosed the injury. MORE>>>
