1955: Speedy Thompson takes the lead from Tim Flock in the 43rd of 200 laps and rolls to victory at Memphis-Arkansas Speedway in LeHi, Ark. Thompson finished three-quarters of a lap ahead of runner-up Marvin Panch, his teammate in Pete DePaolo-owned Fords. Jimmy Massey finished third, four laps behind on the 1.5-mile dirt track, while Flock faded to a fourth-place finish.
