NASCAR MEDIA TOUR: Dale Earnhardt Jr. Joins Richard Petty on Team Goody’s

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Joins Richard Petty on Team Goody’s

DSCN0271Team Goody’s, what does that mean? That is exactly what was going through my head when I walked in the conference room for the announcement Monday night. Signs and poster advertising Goody’s everywhere. Well, don’t stress.  I am going to tell you what it is.

Goody’s is fast-dissolving headache powders. Apparently, it’s extremely popular in the world of NASCAR. From what I understand anyone who races has not only heard of it, but probably has also used it.

Now NASCAR’s most popular driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is their newest sponsor.

Why is this important? Well, first of all Richard Petty is already a sponsor for the product. Secondly, the two will be working together to get it out there. Lastly, this is the first time they will have ever worked together!

“This partnership is unprecedented.” Said Joseph Juliano, Brand Director, Goody’s. “It is the first time that these two NASCAR legends have worked together. Each of them has a huge fan base, and they are both synonymous with the sport of auto racing. Goody’s is all about speed, and nobody personifies the idea of speed better than Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt Jr.”

The goal of their teamwork is to spread the word on the product. Get it out to the public and to the younger generation.

“At every track I go to, people come up to me and tell me a story about using Goody’s,” Petty said. “ At the same time, Goody’s is still something of a well-kept secret. Dale Jr. and I are going to change that. There is nobody better to help me spread the word.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Richard Petty will promote Goody’s in a new multi-media campaign. They will also make personal appearances together at racetracks. The campaign will also include samplings of the product at racetracks. From which I hear, is a longstanding tradition.  Goody’s will also be promoted in-stores, through contests and special events.

“Richard Petty is a role model for me and every other driver in NASCAR.” Earnhardt said. “I am honored to be working with him and thankful Goody’s brought us together. I signed on with Goody’s in part because of their long-term commitment to NASCAR. They helped start the trend of non-car companies coming into the sport.  In my mind, they are synonymous with NASCAR racing. I am also a big fan of their product because it works so fast. “
