Max Papis to run Limited Nationwide schedule for RCR in 2013

Veteran racer Max Papis will campaign in three NASCAR Nationwide Series races for Richard Childress Racing this season the team announced Tuesday.

The native Italian is scheduled to race the No. 33 Chevrolet at Iowa Speedway (June 8), Road America (June 22), and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (Aug. 17). Papis began his racing career in go-karts as a child. Since then, his skill behind the steering wheel has taken him throughout the world to compete in, among others, NASCAR, Formula 1, Indy Car, and sports car racing, including the 24 Hours of Daytona and 24 Hours of LeMans endurance races and V8 Supercar.

“With RCR and ECR Engines, I will have the best opportunity in my career to accomplish my goal of winning a NASCAR race,” Papis said in a press release. “It fills my heart with joy to know that I did enough to earn an oval race opportunity and I will make everyone proud of their decision.” MORE>>>
