NASCAR team owner Jack Roush escaped with only minor injuries but spent the night in a local hospital when his jet crashed at the Wittman Regional Airport in Wisconsin just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
According to an airport spokesperson the Premier 1A jet attempted to land and pulled up as though it would make a fly around and attempt another landing. The jet never regained power however, the nose hit the runway and the plane spun around and the tail of the aircraft broke off.
A witness however said the plane appeared to stall and it looked as though the pilot overcorrected and the aircraft then rolled to the side with one wing striking the ground; after it came to rest the fuselage was broken in half.
Local news reports showed the aircraft broken in half on the runway.MORE–>>
