Loudon, N.H, AJ Allmendinger’s 10th place run was the bright spot for the Ford camp at New Hampshire International Speedway in Sunday’s Lenox Industrial Tools 301.
Allmendinger was the sole Ford in the top-10, while Greg Biffle was the only Roush Fenway Racing Ford to finish on the lead lap.
“If you would have told me at the beginning of the day we were gonna finish 10th, I would have said, ‘Perfect’,” said Allmendinger. “When you kind of run top-five or six all day and you finish 10th, it doesn’t feel quite as good.”
“It was another solid day, another top-10,” added Allmendinger. “We’ll take it.”

Allmendinger says the team continues to get better, and with the Chase for the Sprint Cup only nine races away, Allmendinger says he looks at the Chase as a bonus and says being in the top-15 in points for being a first-year team would be an accomplishment.
“The Chase is still the goal,” said Allmendinger. “We just have to keep running inside the top-10.”
“This is probably one of my worst tracks, so I felt like a real race car driver out there today, and that’s always a good thing,” Allmendinger added. “I’m excited to move forward.”
Greg Biffle finished in the 16th spot, hardly moving forward in the eyes of the Roush Fenway Racing driver.
“We can’t get our cars to turn very good,” said Biffle. “I don’t know what it is, but we’ll just keep working at it.”
“It’s pretty frustrating,” Biffle added. “We just did the best we could and that was 16th.”
Roush Fenway Racing driver Matt Kenseth finished 17th, David Ragan finished 20th, Carl Edwards finished 25th.
Petty Motorsports drivers Elliott Sadler finished 19th, Paul Menard finished 28th, Kasey Kahne blew an engine and finished 36th.
Kevin Conway finished 32nd and David Gilliland finished 35th.
