Ryan Newman found a very fitting way to celebrate the US military this Memorial Day weekend by putting his US Army sponsored Chevy on the pole for Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 Thursday at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Newman put down a lap of 28.793 seconds, 187.546 mph to score his 46th career pole tying with recent NASCAR Hall Of Fame inductee Junior Johnson for 10th on the all time list.
It’s also his first pole and seventh top-10 start in 2010 and his ninth pole in 19 races at Charlotte Motor Speedway.MORE–>>
