DOVER, Del. –After a week of major changes on his Sprint Cup team at Hendrick Motorsports — not the least of which was the removal of Tony Eury Jr. as crew chief — Dale Earnhardt Jr. found a way to get to victory lane — as an owner in the Nationwide Series.
Brad Keselowski gave JR Motorsports its first victory of the season when he took advantage of contact between Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Kyle Busch and Joey Logano on the next-to-last lap of Saturday’s Heluva Good! 200 and held off Logano for the win.
At the end of a tough week, Earnhardt had something to smile about.
“We were just able to capitalize on what happened,” Earnhardt said. “Brad drove a smart race. He had an awesome car. The GoDaddy Chevrolet was running good all weekend We’re real happy. It’s good for our team. We needed a win. We needed some momentum and something to put confidence back in the team. Our guys are really pumped up. They’ll enjoy this.”
