Jack Sprague has been released from the No. 2 Craftsman Truck Series entry, Kevin Harvick Inc. officials announced Monday.

--(Cont'd From Front Page)-- KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick will assume driving duties of the No. 2 Chevrolet for the upcoming truck race at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway on Oct. 18. Details on the driver lineup for the remainder of the season will be announced at a later date.

“The performance of the No. 2 team was not up to either Jack or KHI’s standards,” Harvick said. “My main goal now is to prepare the team to run for a championship in 2009. I am looking forward to getting behind the wheel in Martinsville. It should be a lot of fun.”

Sprague, 44, a three-time truck champion, was eighth in points but winless through 20 of the season’s 25 races.
