Stewart gets controversial win at Talladega

TALLADEGA, Ala. — Tony Stewart, a six-time bridesmaid at Talladega Superspeedway, finally got to victory lane at the 2.66-mile track in Sunday’s AMP Energy 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race.
But a controversial finish left rookie Regan Smith shouting, “Stop the wedding!”

1990: Sterling Marlin wins the All Pro 300 Nationwide Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway for his first NASCAR victory. The win comes in his 12th Nationwide start. Marlin's first Cup victory comes in 1994 in his 279th Cup start.

24: Laps led by Tony Stewart in Sunday's Cup race at Talladega. Stewart led the most laps in the race, and the 24 laps were the fewest for the lap leader in a Cup race at Talladega. The previous low was established by Dale Earnhardt Jr. in October 2006 when he led 37 laps and finished 23rd.
